Both teenagers and adults suffer from acne. Generally people think of acne as occurring on the face because that is where it is most usually visible. But acne occurs elsewhere and here we will examine the back.

When acne breaks out on the back treating it is usually harder than elsewhere. The skin is tougher in this area so you need different skin care solutions than you would use on your face. Also clothes continually rub and irritate the skin and this does not help the problem.

To help treat this form of acne it is important to have a regular skin care routine. Products like cleansers, moisturizers, lotions and glycolic acid can be considered.

Also try to find out why the acne is happening or continually being aggravated. Examine what you normally do throughout the day. Do you carry bags or backpacks on your back routinely? If you do use some other way to carry your equipment. If this helps then that was probably a likely factor causing your acne in that region.

If your clothes are too tight they will cause constant friction and rubbing resulting in localised sweating. You can get an excessive build-up of oil due to this further aggravating your acne.

Coarse clothes likewise cause problems for back acne. They will rub and further irritate the area and may even result in new pimple outbursts.

In common with all acne, back acne has different forms. This means it may be a mild form, a moderate form or even a severe case. When treating your acne be aware that your skin type needs to be considered also. Different types of treatment will be needed for different types of skin.

If after trying over-the-counter solutions and seeing no improvement then consult a doctor who will be able to give you advice on treating your back acne
